For a gorgeous mountain view, look no further than Brasstown Bald, located 18 miles from the William Holland Lapidary School! Situated in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, Brasstown Bald sports gorgeous mountain scenery (and a distinct lack of city traffic!) The visitor center in the serene environment also has a visitor’s center that has multiple displays and videos geared for public viewing and participation.

Meeks Park, Blairsville

Meeks Park is a great place to live out loud! With a swimming pool in their recreation center, miles of walking trails, ball fields, a playground for the tiny folks, and a lovely dog park! (This park gets five out of five wags from my furry friends!)

Sorghum Festival

Come see how the sorghum that pairs so well with your breakfast biscuits is harvested, in the Blairsville Sorghum Festival! Often confused with molasses, sorghum is another tasty sweetener derived from the sorghum grass. With no charge for parking and admission of only $5 a person (excluding the 12 and under crowd- they’re free!), come enjoy the sweet life at the Sorghum Festival in Blairsville, Georgia!

Scottish Festival

Grab your kilt and come on down to the Blairsville Scottish Festival! Falconers and bagpipes and tartan galore! Ever seen a border collie herding trial? How about a falconer at work with his hawk? Farmers Market- Blairsville, GA

The Farmer’s Market in Blairsville, GA has a large number and variety of vendors, with free on-site parking and public restrooms. There is no admission fee and while cash is advised, some stalls do accept credit cards. Not only do they carry garden plants and locally grown food, the Farmer’s Market folks also support local artisans by providing them a space to sell their wares. Take your pick of the produce and have fun perusing the various crafts and art offerings! Shop local, and support our farmers and skilled artisans at the Farmers Market in Blairsville, GA!
