Deposit Refunds/Cancellations/Holds

Should you need to cancel your class, or for any reason decided not to attend after submitting a deposit, your options are as follows:  (i) move your registration to another class; (ii) receive a partial refund of your deposit (providing you have notified us at least 30 days prior to the class start date); (iii) place your deposit on hold for the next school season; or (iv) authorize us to transfer your deposit to our Scholarships Fund.

DEPOSITS: ***Please note that due to a high number of cancellations and large amount of class transfers in the past few years, a fee will now be charged (please see below)…no exceptions. No cancellation or transfer fees will be charged between December Registration and the first day of classes, as we understand students are still working out their class schedule.

  1. Class deposits will be $100 for the 2025 class season. All deposits must be paid at time of registration on our website. All phone/mail registrations must be paid within 10 days of enrollment or class will be canceled.
  2. A $100 fee will be charged for classes canceled 30 days or more before your class is scheduled to begin. All requests must be in writing to the address below.
  3. A $150 fee will be charged for classes canceled less than 30 before your class is scheduled to begin. All requests must be in writing to the email/mail address below.

TRANSER OF CLASSES

  • A fee of $50 will be charged for any class transferred to another class in the same year. All requests must be in writing to the email/mail address below.

CLASSES CANCELLED BY WILLIAM HOLLAND SCHOOL OR LAPIDARY ARTS

Students will not be charged to transfer or cancel a class if there is a change in Instructor or class is cancelled by an Instructor.

REFUND POLICY:

If you do not want or are not entitled to a refund, we may be able to place your deposit “on hold”. When your deposit is placed “on hold”, that means that we will allow you to apply that deposit toward the fees for taking another class within the current season or during the following season. After the end of the following school season, all deposits on hold are considered forfeited. Deposits that are placed on hold are not eligible for refund unless the original request to place the amount on hold was made in such a way as to make the amount eligible for a refund as defined in the preceding paragraph.

If you are not present at check-in and you do not notify us that you need to cancel a class, your deposit will be considered a  donation. WHR also reserves the right to deny you future access to the Site and/or Services.

In situations where WHR is unable to fulfill your request to access the services, such as class cancellation by the Instructor, WHR, at its sole discretion, will work with the student to secure another class or may offer a full refund of any deposit paid toward that specific class or accommodations. WHR is not bound to offer any refund except as outlined in the previous paragraphs.
